For those of you who are fans, Kwei has just unveiled her 2009 Spring Collection on her website. These knotted beauties are headed to Saks to join their 2009 Spring Collection ;) . I absolutely love the watersnakes embellished with crystals TDF…..

Be & D

I first noticed Be & D at Saks Fifth Avenue, perhaps a few years after the hype of Marc Jacob’s Stella Bag? I always wanted to own one. Be & D is to handbags what Rock & Republic is to jeans- a very chic and edgy brand.

I was also pondering recently that… sad to say, it’s almost become norm that higher-end designer handbags will cost $800-$1500, if not more (this of course is excluding Chanel, Gucci, Fendi, Valentino which I consider higher higher-end). A shopper has to become more savvy to complete her collection. This of course, is another discussion…

The designs captured my attention beginning a few years ago when I saw them in a local boutique. IF re-invents itself each season- feminine floral to wild child. Ruelala recently had a sale so here are the top picks. Everything just about sold out in a matter of minutes.–>

Speaking of YSL…

The YSL Y-Mail is too cute! I also think the Muse style is elegant yet edgy. Enjoy the pics!

Lesa Wallace, Dautore, Kale Handbags

Just a small highlight from these brands. I love Kale in “Ice.” It’s not a matte/dull leather finish but a pearl/opal white. Kind of reminds me of newly fallen snow with iridescence. It’s really beautiful! I’m not that into white or even ivory colored bags but this one I definitely like. The Kales have a terrific suede hot pink signature lining (see Chilton below). The Lemon Python is TDF. Love the Kale Terra Grande but wish the exterior pocket was different. It’s a little strange to me; wish it was more like one of the YSLs “Downtown” exterior pocket (I know; I’m too hard to please)…

Katherine Kwei

Where have I been all this time? I can’t believe I didn’t notice this designer before. Katherine Kwei is so talented! Lovely bags and accessories based on Chinese knotting- a refreshing combination. Must-have items (I’m not into which celebrity is carrying it; I just know it’s beautiful and a potential classic to own). She is trying to roll out her 2009 pretty soon. Here’s some 2007 & 2008 eye-candy for you–>

Classics from Chaiken

These are basic pieces which should be in any wardrobe… Black is a great color because it has such a slimming effect on everyone. For those of you unaware of HauteLook, they operate much like Gilt and Ruelala.

Another great mixed media combo. Sort of strange but the black resin reminds me of vintage mourning or remembrance jewelry? Featured below is also a side-to-side comparison of the two.

A Girl’s Second Best Friend?

  • Posted on January 26, 2009 at 4:01 pm

I’d have to say it’s third for me but I’m sure it’s second for many gals out there. My second is of course handbags. Here are some great recent finds. I was lucky enough to score the gold pair of Missoni for $98! I still can’t believe it!

I also love the pink Diane Von Furstenberg but there were none left in my size =(. They would look great on tanned skin.

As for the Stuart Weitzman, I’m thinking ahead to spring and summer. Any suggestions for stylish shoes (boots) for a snowy winter? I’ve been depending too much on my UGGs to get me through this season.
