New Popular Trend: Skater Skirts & Dresses

September 16th, 2015 Posted in Fashion | No Comments »

While this trend may not be for everyone, it’s certainly cute!  I adore Abercrombie & Fitch’s take on it!  I just placed an order for their high neck neoprene pleated dress with cut-out back in black…  I was inspired to by the beautiful Miss Kelly Ferguson (KellyLovesBeauty1 of You Tube).  Can’t wait to pair this with one of my more stylish stockings =), which sadly do not receive much wear ever (part of valuing your purchases includes using and enjoying them to the fullest).  What’s terrific about this dress is that it goes with just about any style shoe and can be dressed up or down: leather boots, ballet flats, sandals of all types, Converse sneakers, or even those recently popular slip-on leather sneakers.

P.S. A&F has become my favorite denim brand!  Their jeans fit me like a glove and better yet, no hemming needed despite the fact that I’m only 5’3.”  Also, yayyy to their awesome occasional discounts!  My favorite?  High-rise destroyed skinnys in either the dark or medium wash, though I just placed an order for a light wash since I have way too few of those and I needed to just step out of my comfort zone ;)

Something to Marvel About…

May 19th, 2015 Posted in curiosities, Fashion, Special Projects, Style & Fashion | No Comments »

Made especially for sci-fi fiction gal fans…  Finally wears which are feminine and cute, if that’s what you’ve been looking for!  With all the hype surrounding the recent The Avengers: Age of Ultron movie, I wanted to attend the viewing in style :)!

I’m not the biggest Black Widow fan so I suggested to Her Universe that a Maria Hill Shield jacket also be made.  I did receive some enthusiastic responses to this request but we’ll see what will come of it.  I’d definitely be the first in line for one!  This company also stocks Star Wars, Dr. Who, Transformers, Star Trek, and Nerdist products.

The Glitter of Manhattan Portage…

March 10th, 2015 Posted in accessories, Fashion, Handbags | No Comments »

This time all that glitters is gold!  With it’s many great features of generous depth to fit more on-the-go necessities, leather-free, overall practicality (and even comes with velcro silencing patches), and attractive styling (eye catchingly glittery non-glitter good whether for day or night), I knew I had to own a bag from Manhattan Portage’s newly introduced Midnight Collection.  I first saw the collection at the Manhattan Portage/Token flagship store located on Elizabeth Street in New York, but regretfully realized later on I should have purchased something from the Midnight Collection that very visit.   You know how it goes when something you like lingers on your mind ;)…  Well, maybe waiting became a virtue because months later, the Midnight Collection was further expanded with such awesome designs such as the mini messenger pictured below.  Had to snag that baby up!

My New Obsession: Athleta

February 18th, 2015 Posted in Fashion, Yoga | No Comments »

Between Black Friday, Cyber Friday, to Christmas 2014, I gladly took advantage of the generous sales and used eBates where I could (wish all stores participate in eBates).  Anyone who is aware of Athleta’s regular prices especially would understand why I did.  Athleta creates great quality fitwear, but most of the prices are really steep… I guess that could be said of designer sportswear in general.  Remember that you don’t have to necessarily pay full price for good clothing or to build your wardrobe.  I feel no shame to admit that I have accumulated some great casual pieces at Target too; many I wear for yoga or to the gym.  Yayyy to double discounts and free shipping; I was able to purchase the awesome hooded sweater featured below at a much better price than I could have imagined!

Autumn & Winter Ready!

October 14th, 2014 Posted in Fashion | 6 Comments »

It’s like “JCrew and Urban Outfitters had a baby”, a friend had said…  so of course my attention was instantly captured!  Aritzia offers many wonderful basics with an interesting design twist; which is refreshing to see!  Here’s my current favorites… The Talula Trancas Jacket (a very versatile 3 season jacket, which one would never know from the online description) and TNA Botanie Jacket (slick lightweight bombers made popular last year which have carried over to this season) which means yayyy, I get a second chance since missing out last time ;)!  Also, all my orders always arrive prettily and professionally packaged; I’m very impressed :)!

*Addendum on February 9, 2015:

For those wondering about how the Talula Trancas coat detaches, here are some pics I hope you will find helpful.  Please feel free to ask more questions regarding this coat and I’ll do my best to clarify.

Getting Organized with Walker Bags

My recent solution to messy contents sloshing around in my handbag are the helpful and lovely double zip pocket Walker Bags.  I love them in metallic mesh for their elegance, though they do come in a range of other playful colors and even in single pockets.

Scarf Treasure: Faliero Sarti

August 20th, 2014 Posted in accessories, Fashion, scarves | No Comments »

I’m in love!.. again ;)… I saw a gorgeous Faliero Sarti scarf on 11th. Moon’s website because of You Tube’s Chrissstttiiine.  It’s a peachy pink, delicate half cotton half silk with floral border best worn as a shrug scarf in my opinion, though there are many other wonderful ways to fashion a scarf.  I have a soft spot for the Fiorenza since it reminds me of my love for gardening :).

P.S. 11th. Moon’s customer service is impeccable!

Sally Beauty’s DCNL Hair Accessories

December 2nd, 2013 Posted in accessories, beauty products, Fashion | No Comments »

I haven’t written on this topic for quite a while.  Hair accessories… love them!.. and something that you can never have too much of ;).  Every once in a while I’ll find myself wandering the beauty aisles and find something blog-worthy, like Sally Beauty Supply DCNL’s both pretty and handy-to-have hair accessories.  I’m normally a tee and jeans girl so when I feel like dolling up with just a little effort, I like to go for a beaded ponytailer, a rhinestone claw clip, or jeweled bobbies and barettes.  I’ve also included other favorite staples below…
