I meant to post on this topic last year around this time (my little sister’s wedding). Sorry, somehow I got side-tracked once again. My husband’s cousin’s wedding is fast approaching so I’m dedicating this post to her in hopes that she will have a very happy life with her fiance.
As for my wedding gown and accessories, I had made very practical choices years ago which overall worked out fine [allowed me to afford a honeymoon ;) ]. Though, honestly, I was like any other girl who peripherally snuck a longing gaze or two at those Vera Wangs and Monique Lhuilliers. In retrospect, I wish I had thought of wearing one of those darling birdcage veils down the aisle instead of a traditional veil, but then again, it really would have clashed with my gown. Maybe for my renewal of vows? A girl can hope =).

The height of the bridal season is almost here once again and I have wanted to do this post for a while now…
I was browsing one afternoon on The Knot and was excited to find a wealth of wedding resources. At the time, I wanted to splurge a little on a professional makeup artist who could make me look perfect for my special day. I needed one less thing of concern; it was crazy as it was. Gina was such a pleasure to work with and I loved the bridal look she chose for me =). Soon after, I recommended Gina to one of my husband’s friends for her late summer wedding and she also loved working with Gina. I believe Gina may be working mostly in Florida now. At the time we met, she was living in New York. Give a call to Magic Makeover; professional, punctual, patient, great to work with- what more could you ask for?

Two words… exquisite, ethereal =). I would have loved to wear this gown for my wedding. The price is much more affordable than a Vera Wang. I can be a very practical person and decided that it would be a waste of my money to blow an outrageous amount for a gown that I would only wear once. I’d rather spend that money on a much loved designer handbag or diamond accessories. I ended up going down the aisle in a white tulle embroidered floral and pearl beaded Mori Lee number on top of having two other diva changes (a red and pink burnt velvet spaghetti strapped dress and an Audrey Hepburn worthy teal and cream strapless gown), haha =))… Oh and Bea, if you’re reading this, don’t rule out JCrew’s bridal collection… Hey, when are the invites going out =)?
