I fell in love with Temple St. Clair‘s modern classic style for its imaginative, impeccable goldwork design. It reminds me of a freshwater pearl ring I bought from a Court Street, Cobble Hill jeweler and the orb jewel from “Men in Black” ;).

I ordered this book by Maria Alexandra Vettese and Stephanie Congdon Barnes just this morning and can’t wait until it arrives! I’ve only been able to see a very small portion of the pictures but I know from the little I’ve seen that it’s very special and will probably remain in my permanent collection. The concepts are simple, peaceful, delightful. It’s probably a book I would turn to for comfort on a gloomy day.

Olivia is my favorite children’s book as an adult. My parents did their best to care for my sister and I but there were no bedtime stories. It’s almost impossible to catch up. I’m not ashamed to admit that I have a decent sized Olivia collection of books and stuffed animals, etc. The limited edition FAO Swartz stuffed Opera Doll still eludes me; it’s an on-going search that’s been on-and-off for nearly two years now (sort of like the 1998 large 12 inch tall stuffed pink polka-dotted elephant from The Island of Misfit Toys). My opera doll figurine will have to suffice for now.

I started to take interest in his work before beginning this blog so I almost forgot to mention him. He is one of my favorite contemporary artists to the point where I’ve decorated my study with his artwork. He was featured in my #1 movie “Amelie” starring Audrey Tatou and Mathieu Kassovitz. I have been thinking about his artwork recently. My brother-in-law bought me “The Little King December” (by Axel Hacke, illustrated by Michael Sowa) off my Christmas wishlist. I also attempted to find an iPhone compatible download of “Amelie” but was met with disappointment =(. Without further adieu…

There’s a very charming and posh mid-size boutique on the main strip of Nantucket. They sell gorgeous vermeil jewelry as well as estate pieces, besides every other article of fashion imaginable.
34 Main Street
Nantucket, MA 02554
It’s just one ferry ride away. If you are ever in the area, go in and browse…..

I especially love the gown with moon design. So chic! I never saw anything like it. He has some really classic, powerful designs. I also adore the blue fur trim on the cardigan. I am trying to figure out what brand is responsible for the teal hosiery that the model is wearing in some of the pics. I want a pair! I used to have fitted denim dresses just like the one in the picture by BCBG and another one by Tommy Hilfiger. Hopefully I still fit them. I haven’t worn them in a while just because I’m so bombarded by everything else hanging in my closet. I wish I had more closet space! I tend to go for variety, but I can understand owning fewer very high quality ensembles too.

Nicole Miller, Marc Jacobs, Catherine Malandrino… I’m starting to run out of steam since it’s getting late =(. Just know that if I was a real party-goer, I wouldn’t mind donning these on. Goodnite; ’til next time. My next post will be on Alexander McQueen =).

It’s nearly impossible to choose favorites from Kara Ross‘s Flower Collection! I love them all. Great to wear with a minimalistic silk or chiffon white or ivory top e.g. think something by John Galliano or Development.
