This incredible sponge (purchased from my local CVS) really protected my skin from the harsh wintry weather last year so I had to do a review on this incredible product; especially with the cold already setting in! The Applause Hand Buffer, offered in the scent Honey Lotus-Quince, is very pleasant, sweet, and mild, cleanses well, and softens skin at least as well as Spongeables boasts. I typically use this product with warm water before bed and I do apply more lotion on afterwards (only because my skin is normally so cracked and dry during this time of year). I figure extra measures can only help.
The first batch of picante style sauce I made was a Part 1 of a Wagon Wheel Pasta Salad recipe. Since I needed only one cup of sauce for the pasta salad, I used the rest as salsa dip for tortilla chips. May I add, a great snack for watching football =) I still have a bunch of tortilla chips left so I decided to make some more dip to have with it. Afterall, tortillas are kind of blah without any dip =(. I couldn’t find the exact picante recipe I originally used but overall remembered the ingredients.
1 Spanish onion (medium) cubed
1 Red bell pepper cubed
1 Green bell pepper cubed
1 Cup of cilantro (you may use less; I just love cilantro so I tend to put more in, plus by the time you get rid of the stems and chop it up, there’s barely much left)
2 Cans of diced tomatoes (I only kept 3/4 can’s worth of tomato juice)
1 Tiny can of tomato paste
Several pieces of jalapeno peppers (bottled) chopped fine (you may want to use more or less depending on how mild or hot you want it)
Okay, seeing that it has been pretty cold out, I decided this wouldn’t be a bad time to re-stock on some Lush favorites and finally try Iced Wine Shower Jelly. As I suspected, it survived the mail without melting. I absolutely love the scent of Iced Wine. It’s reminiscent of spiked sweet cider. Sooo good! Unlike Sweetie Pie though, my particular jelly did not hold up as well after my shower but is still overall in one piece, I suppose. This isn’t a big deal though, since I found another great Lush product. Limited edition, probably, of course = /. Do try it; two thumbs up from me!
I’m such a nut for make up bags- you’ve seen them; the ones with the double compartments in which you can store your favorite brushes and mascara and with a bottom section large enough for all your cosmetic goodies. I’m not picky on whether it’s coated canvas or smooth heavyweight nylon but Anya Hindmarch’s version takes the cake with its patent trim, embossed “Make Up” lettering, and lovely signature logo lining. Every girl who tends to do some sort of traveling should own one. My small qualm is that I wish she made one in navy blue or black with the lining as seen below. This would be a great holiday gift for someone =)
My love for Deux Lux has been rekindled this year with the release of their Supernova Tote. It’s a great dressed up version of the everyday bag and affordable too. My favorite versions of it are in Moonshadow and Gunmetal. A perfect way to look stylish on your errands or at the library.
The third photo below is of my Horn Satchel which was purchased at $27.00-$32.00 at a boutique closing in Forest Hills, Queens (which is always a sad event, but offers good deals). I’ve received so many compliments on this bag throughout the years. It’s a gorgeous little bag!
I’m still forming an opinion on Rachel Roy (not too familiar with her brand yet). Her Koala Bear Ring has definitely given me a great first impression. Koalas are dear to my heart; they are furry little lovable creatures. I’ve never seen such a cute statement piece before; rarely has a koala bear appeared in fashion so this is very special indeed!.. Antique gold and crystal- sounds divine =). You already know my love for Kenneth Jay Lane so this is to no surprise.
I’ve been obsessing over this brand recently- thoughts spurred on by the launch of Mulberry for Target (the large black patent Bayswater remains elusive). The Alexa style is a chic messenger bag with a school gal sweetness; I wish I owned this bag too! My all-time favorite is the Bayswater in blue calf-hair. Gorgeous! Gorgeous! The new tree-patterned bag lining is most adorable! I miss no details *blush*
This post isn’t really a detailed review, as much as the ones I normally post about. It’s just a mini rave that I loved this citrusy blend: the last of my Easter Egg (Yellow) Bath Ballistic ~1/3, Karma Bubble Bar (oh sooo yummy smelling) ~1/2, and Floating Island Bath Melt ~1/2. It was simply wonderful and relaxing =)!
I hope to use my limited edition/ Lush holiday goodies soon, so looking forward to that post and I need to use up my Halloween goodies as well. Ah bubbles, bubbles!
If you want a spicy, perfect for cold Fall days/Winter-type shower gel, than Glögg is for you! OMG I REALLY love it!!! It reminds me of a hot mug of apple cider with a cinnamon stick… Watching t.v., a soft throw blanket over me, with a warm mug of apple cider =)… How can I not love something that makes me think of nice thoughts like that??? I’m planning to buy the biggest bottle which Lush offers fairly soon. Don’t pass this up! Go to Lush and experience it for yourself!
I visited a Lush boutique in Manhattan recently (the one near East 14th. Street/Union Square Park) and remembered that I really wanted to try one of their candy sweet shower jellies (particularly because I’ve always feared it melting while being shipped and so I’ve never ordered them online). I also heard through the grape vine that all shower jellies will be discontinued by Lush =(. You should try them or buy a backup while you still can. I really love Sweetie Pie with its grape jelly bean scent. It is very slithery to work with and fell twice onto my tub. When wet, the scent changes to a strong, less candied scent which is a bit hard to describe. As it dries, the grape jelly bean scent returns. SP has great lather, though I never would have imagined it until I tried it for myself. From what I can tell, one SP jelly can last for quite a number of showers.
