For any of you who own anything from Cleobella’s famous Mexicana collection, I’d love to hear from you… It looks like a lovely product to own and I can imagine a hardworking artisan lovingly pouring hours into its creation… Please let me know your thoughts below. XOXO

My recent solution to messy contents sloshing around in my handbag are the helpful and lovely double zip pocket Walker Bags. I love them in metallic mesh for their elegance, though they do come in a range of other playful colors and even in single pockets.

I haven’t written on this topic for quite a while. Hair accessories… love them!.. and something that you can never have too much of ;). Every once in a while I’ll find myself wandering the beauty aisles and find something blog-worthy, like Sally Beauty Supply DCNL’s both pretty and handy-to-have hair accessories. I’m normally a tee and jeans girl so when I feel like dolling up with just a little effort, I like to go for a beaded ponytailer, a rhinestone claw clip, or jeweled bobbies and barettes. I’ve also included other favorite staples below…

I’m not sure how I became fascinated with shearling aviator hats and aviator jackets? Was it my passion for studying about American history, specifically World War I and World War II (though the Civil War was equally as intriguing) or the costumes which occasionally appeared on old comedy shows such as Abbott & Costello (my favorite growing up)? One thing’s for sure, I was madly in love with the Amelia Earhart aviator jacket which appeared in a UGGs catalog shortly after the brand gained mass popularity. I remembered pining over it for days; how expensive and unattainable it seemed. When I had finally saved up for it, I had waited too long and it was totally sold out =(. Winter, as usual, has peaked my interest in this particular style of outerwear and accessories once more…
P.S. Juicy Couture has created a chic faux twist (in dragonfruit) to our beloved Mad Bomber styled hats…

I’ve known about Talbots for years. I never gave them a real chance when I was in my early 20s (currently in my 30s). Even back then they carried basics and American classics; however, I believed they were for the more mature woman (nothing wrong with this but it didn’t appeal to me at the time). Like JCrew and Banana Republic, over the years they have really revamped their designs in certain ways, so much it seems that I can sense a more inclusionary younger vibe.
My sister-in-law placed a teal Talbots tote two years ago on her wishlist which kind of planted a seed in my mind to look them up online. Shortly after, my husband received a catalog from them and I browsed through it, falling madly in love with a fitted button down denim shirt (something I’ve always wanted to own). I was quickly impressed by their quality, cut, and sizing (which fit me like a glove more than any other brand whether I was looking for a top, sweater, blazer, or pants). As for sizing, they have something for everyone unlike other brands which cater to select populations. My husband usually hates Christmas shopping especially at the mall, so I encouraged him to give our nearby Talbots a try. Also, their customer service whether in-store or over-the-phone is impeccable. Have you ever seen the way they package things too? Always with great care and professionalism. They get an A+++ from me! I just bought their Gallery Cable Flyaway Cardi in frost grey heather and had to also order one in black! Like any other girl who knows what’s good for her, anything which flatters your figure (picture you smiling at yourself in front of the mirror) is priceless =). Even better, both my sweaters were purchased at drumroll please… 40% off (it’s a steal)! I love my new cardis because they are beautifully made, thick, and soft to the touch. I’m planning to wear this to my upcoming Christmas gatherings with a festive Anthro top and dressier Talbot jeans (the Curvy Fit black rinse trouser jeans to be precise). I know you might find it odd that I mentioned Anthropologie and Talbots in the same sentence but they both have an important role to play in my closet. Anthro offers whimsical retro silhouettes while Talbots offers sophisticated refined beauty. That to me, when paired correctly creates a good fashion balance.
Give Talbots a chance; I guarantee you’ll want to become a new convert =)! For those who are long time Talbot lovers… I know you’re out there so comment below and tell me about your cherished finds ;)!
P.S. I’m nuts for their handbags, pearl necklaces, and shoes too! Below are several of my favorites from this season…

I meant to post on this topic last year around this time (my little sister’s wedding). Sorry, somehow I got side-tracked once again. My husband’s cousin’s wedding is fast approaching so I’m dedicating this post to her in hopes that she will have a very happy life with her fiance.
As for my wedding gown and accessories, I had made very practical choices years ago which overall worked out fine [allowed me to afford a honeymoon ;) ]. Though, honestly, I was like any other girl who peripherally snuck a longing gaze or two at those Vera Wangs and Monique Lhuilliers. In retrospect, I wish I had thought of wearing one of those darling birdcage veils down the aisle instead of a traditional veil, but then again, it really would have clashed with my gown. Maybe for my renewal of vows? A girl can hope =).

I bought a pair of black wool mix unisex touchscreen gloves last year from Muji (also well-known for their awesome acrylic storage) and totally loved them for their warmth, softness, non-itchiness (which woolen products are notoriously known for), and touchscreen capability! How awesome; no more having to take off my winter gloves to text on my phone in the cold! I’ll never take this for granted! Very sadly, a few months later, I lost mine and Muji had sold out of it many days ago (they were also not re-stocking due to the approach of Spring) =(.
I remember that after I first bought my pair, I loved them so much I mentioned it to my husband as we were trying to figure out what to get family members for Christmas. He ended up buying a similar pair to Muji’s for his brother; who had a sparkle in his eyes when he found out they were even better than the original plain winter gloves on his wishlist. Muji’s unisex gloves range from $19.95-$21.95. Anyway, you get the point. Go to Muji and check them out! I just ordered a replacement; I’m one happy girl again! =)

One night after a nice dinner at The Platform Bar & Restaurant in London (which I highly recommend), my husband and I walked across to admire the beautiful view at the promenade. Unexpected to me, sandwiched in-between was a large shopping arcade. I peeked into the store’s windows wishing the shops were still open (Boots, a cute British bookstore, clothing boutiques, and Accessorize). The next morning was a race to reach Coventry at a decent time so it would not have worked out =(. I also didn’t want to seem petty and kept quiet about this; after all we were on holiday, not a shopping expedition. I knew that the last leg of our trip would bring us back to London before our flight home. I secretly hoped that we could visit this arcade again and felt that if this was meant to be, it would happen. My wish came true when my husband announced he wanted to tour the HMS Belfast (which was practically paces away). Accessorize, as its name implies, is an accessories shop similar to our Claire’s or The Icing in the United States or New York with equally charming and inexpensive bits and baubles. My husband didn’t have to mention it twice when we walked by that day so I raced in. These were my loveliest of finds…

I love her Diamonds & Gold Collection for a layered look with mid-sized floral or pyramid rings. Her twisted waif rings look especially great for this purpose (third pic).
