The Bird House

December 10th, 2015 Posted in Avian Adventures, curiosities | No Comments »

My last trip to Cape May brought us to The Bird House of Cape May as we were making our way home after a very nice visit and needed vacation.  I picked up a couple of goodies while at the shop… a beautiful tasseled throw with impeccable weaving (on it was a calming beach scene and a sweet Adirondack styled chair) and a cotton nesting ball especially for my feathered friends.

My recent favorite has been Wild Birds Unlimited.  I usually frequent the Katonah-Bedford Hills, Westchester New York location.  They sell both supplies and bird themed gifts.  I bought most of my stocking stuffers there this season.  The prices tend to be mid-range.  I consider them a local treasure.  They have a number of other locations as well across the United States.  They have the best customizable bird feeding station I’ve ever seen!

They’re Back… Muji’s Amazing Touchscreen Gloves!

September 26th, 2012 Posted in accessories, curiosities, Fashion | 2 Comments »

I bought a pair of black wool mix unisex touchscreen gloves last year from Muji (also well-known for their awesome acrylic storage) and totally loved them for their warmth, softness, non-itchiness (which woolen products are notoriously known for), and touchscreen capability!  How awesome; no more having to take off my winter gloves to text on my phone in the cold!  I’ll never take this for granted!  Very sadly, a few months later, I lost mine and Muji had sold out of it many days ago (they were also not re-stocking due to the approach of Spring) =(.

I remember that after I first bought my pair, I loved them so much I mentioned it to my husband as we were trying to figure out what to get family members for Christmas.  He ended up buying a similar pair to Muji’s for his brother; who had a sparkle in his eyes when he found out they were even better than the original plain winter gloves on his wishlist.  Muji’s unisex gloves range from $19.95-$21.95.  Anyway, you get the point.  Go to Muji and check them out!  I just ordered a replacement; I’m one happy girl again! =)

Just for Equestrians!

My love for horses and horseback riding has led me to three websites of interest I’d love to share.  Silver Pony Designs (jewelry), The Equestrian Corner (gear), Back in the Saddle (gear), and HorseLoverz (gear).

I received two lovely pairs of silver earrings and a gorgeous silver necklace by Silver Pony Designs from my mother-in-law and sister-in-law to-be as Christmas presents.  I’m so thankful and will treasure these gifts always ♥.

Just received my Thinsulate lined riding gloves by Thornhill.  Love them!  Now I’m hoping to find an unlined pair to wear during the warmer seasons.  Here’s the link to Thornhill.

A few weeks ago I purchased Equi-Star pull-on breeches via Amazon.  They are very comfy, with a drawstring at the waist, and were reasonably priced.  We will have to see about wear and pilling.  I wish they came in more colors than just light beige and black.  I would have liked to see the pants offered in a dark tan as well and but will need to be content for now.
