Lush Review: Tuca Tuca Massage Bar

I generally like this new massage bar though it isn’t my top most favorite scent only because I prefer true candy scents.  Tuca Tuca reminds me of candied flowers- the ones you would see adorning a beautiful tiered cake or simply atop a gourmet cupcake.  This pretty scent with its moisturizing qualities has lingered on for hours, as if I have just lathered it on (it’s been nine hours post-bath).  I do recommend Tuca Tuca without any reservations.  It’s definitely worthy of a re-purchase.  I hope that Lush will keep TT in its permanent collection.

Lush Review: B-Electro, Sunny Citrus, Heavenly Bodies, After 8:30

B-Electro Shower Gel Sample: Reminds me of a Yankee Candles tart I used to love called Key Lime Pie.  Both are now discontinued unfortunately =(.

  • Rapseed oil
  • Sunflower oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Fennel oil
  • Grapefruit Oil
  • Jasmine Absolute
  • Rose Absolute

Sunny Citrus Soap: Very mildly sweetly scented.  The only ingredient I thought I sensed more strongly than the others was lemon.  If you don’t like strong scents and love all things citrusy than this may be for you =).

  • Rapeseed oil
  • Sunflower oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Orange oil
  • Tangerine oil
  • Mandarin oil
  • Neroli oil
  • Bergamot oil
  • Gardenia extract

Heavenly Bodies Buttercream: Reminds me of hot chocolate powder with a discernable nuttiness to it.  Leaves one’s skin silky soft.  I really love it.  It’s not as messy as You Snap The Whip thank goodness.  Mine arrived slightly melted during the July heat but nothing was wasted.  I placed it somewhere cooler and it solidified.

  • Orange Blossom Infusion
  • Rapeseed Oil
  • Sunflower Oil
  • Coconut Oil
  • Fresh Orange Juice
  • Rhassoul Mud
  • Tangerine Oil
  • Sweet Orange Oil
  • Vanilla Absolute
  • Cocoa Absolute
  • Flaked Chocolate

After 8:30: Reminds me of After Eight Dinner Mints but I smell mainly vanilla and chocolate (sweet scent obviously).  It’s really a great Lush massage bar, especially if you love Coeur.  My only reservation about it is the chocolate side leaves a brown film on your skin but it goes away after you massage it into the skin.  It’s not a big deal to me; I haven’t had anything stained yet from using it.

Soft Coeur (The Honeymooners) Massage Bar

This is definitely one of my favorite Lush massage bars!  It had sold out online just when I was interested in purchasing it so I picked up a bar at a Lush store.  I kinda want to eat it =) but I know I can’t.  It melts very quickly as you are massaging it onto your skin and makes you smell as if you took a dip in Willy Wonka’s chocolate ponds.  I never would have imagined “wearing” chocolate until now.  Highly recommended for the sweet toothed.

  • Honey
  • Cocoa powder
  • Almond oil
  • Sweet orange oil
  • Bergamot oil

Lush Review: Wiccy Magic Muscles Massage Bar

This is a must have if you don’t particularly like Bengay or Icy Hot.  WMM has a strong minty scent though.  You probably can’t get away from minty scents if the goal is to relax achy tired muscles (I wish that wasn’t the case but I’ve been unable to find a strawberry scented muscle ache remedy).  I don’t like peppermint as much as I like spearmint but for the wonderful job it’s done for my muscles, I will definitely keep one around always.  Ladies, it’s remarkable in relieving lower back pain ahem.

  • Aduki Beans
  • Organic Jojoba Oil
  • Cinnamon Leaf Oil
  • Peppermint Oil
  • Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

General Recipe for Lush Bath Cocktails

If you want a more lavish bath, ideally you’ll want to choose:

1 bath bomb to create fizz

1 bubble bar to create bubbles

1 bath melt to moisturize and soften skin

1 bar of soap for additional cleansing or exfoliation (obviously depends on the type of bar you choose).  Remember to exfoliate before you put on any type of fake bake so your skin can absorb the product better and more evenly.

1 rubber ducky; just kidding (this is optional)

You may also want to have a face mask on during this time or hair treatment.  I personally like to put face mask on when I’m not in the bath since it tends to flake off as it dries and ends up falling into the bath water.  I’m very particular this way.

I find that body butters are best used during a shower but you can do whatever suits you.

A post-bath massage bar or body lotion and foot cream is a must for me since I have dry skin (which is even more terrible during the winter).

Below is a picture of my second Lush bath cocktail.  I tend to soak in this Lushoiusness until I’m nice and pruney.  If you are wondering where I bought my wonderful adjustable bath caddy, it was ordered from eBay.  I believe that Linens ‘N Things carries the same model too.  If not, Google “adjustable bath caddy” and a bunch of alternatives should appear.  I love Pottery Barn’s but didn’t believe it was suitable for the type of tub I have.

If you love bath cocktails as much as I do, please share your recipes!

Whatever you choose, Happy Bathing!

Lush Review: Jungle & Other Bath Time Goodies

I’ve been using Jungle Solid Hair Conditioner for a couple of months now and really LOVE it!  It has a slightly sweet herbal scent and leaves my hair soft and nicely fragrant.   Jungle is definitely a product I would re-purchase without a doubt.  I haven’t experienced any negative effects on my dry scalp while using it so I’m very relieved. I was just taking a quick glance at their shampoos and conditioners targeting the treatment of dry scalp and other issues but none stood out to me so I will stick to Jungle.

Flying Fox Shower Gel: It passed my initial scent test =)…  The sweet jasmine scent of this bath gel smells the same from the bottle as it does during one’s shower.  I purchased a small bottle of it from Danbury’s Lush store since it’s a beloved favorite of many Lushies and thought it was worth a try.

Coolaulin Hair Conditioner: When I gave this a quick sniff at the store, I knew I wanted to purchase a small bottle of it.  Although it had a sweet mild scent =), at the time, I didn’t know how my scalp would respond to it (therefore the small bottle).  I didn’t realize until during my shower, that it smelled almost identical to Trichomania.  Not a surprise that I’ll say next, that I really love it and will re-purchase it in the future.

Yummy Yummy Yummy Shower Gel: Smells of strawberries/fruity scent.  I like this one.  I’m a bit more partial to solid soaps but I would give this a re-purchase thumbs up.  I think it’s great with a follow-up of Strawberry Feels Massage Bar!

American Cream Hair Conditioner: I had high expectations of this product just because of so many guru rave reviews but I think it’s just okay.  I definitely like Coolaulin a lot more.  It’s not as consistently sweetly scented as I would like.  Give it a try anyway.  It’s a good product that made my hair feel as soft as any other Lush product Ive tried so far.
