H2Pro 300 Heat Styling

  • Posted on August 11, 2010 at 2:01 pm

I love my new H2Pro heat styler!  Scored this one recently at a great price on sample sale.  I’ve been using it in conjunction with my Victoria’s Secret Smooth Straight & Silky Styling Mist but there are many other great heat protectants out there e.g. Tresemme Heat Tamer.  Does not cause damage to hair (just have to be careful handling this styler since it can get pretty hot; follow the instructions), my hair remains well-styled and stick straight for hours in any type of weather, can also do a cute flippy hairdo, makes my hair silky soft and shiny.  Obviously with all these great attributes, I’m pretty happy with it =)

H2Pro Beauty Life, not sure if this site is still undergoing construction? but I wanted to include it anyway.

Le Clic Disc Film Camera

  • Posted on June 23, 2010 at 12:23 pm

I have happy memories of owning the 1980s Le Clic camera.  It was my first ever camera and therefore the specialness of it.  Mine was a very pretty bubblegum pink which my dad bought for me as a birthday present (to take on our family trip to California).  We were most certainly going to Disneyland and I wanted to capture the highlights, especially the day parades =).  I only had a week to familiarize myself with this camera.  The pictures it took exceeded my expectations.

Nifty Cutting Boards

  • Posted on April 23, 2010 at 1:43 pm

I saw these Core Bamboo cutting boards yesterday and wanted to blog about them.  Really great for a serious cook who wants a well-equipped kitchen beyond basics or has lots of extra storage space in his/her pantry or basement.  I have to pick and choose what’s the most important me.  Space is of the essence.  I can picture my husband’s folks or aunt owning one of these; they’re fairly serious epicures.

Library Desk Viva Terra

  • Posted on March 10, 2010 at 6:03 pm

While perusing through the new Viva Terra catalog, I saw the most clever desk design… If you’re like me, you have a mini library on your desk too. Mind you, I would never trade-in my stealth bomber of a desk but this library desk design is so pretty and just makes lots of sense…

Makeup etc. Re-Organization Ideas

  • Posted on February 24, 2010 at 9:39 pm

My efforts to re-organize have been long overdue. I used to keep my makeup in train cases or plastic boxes… An okay solution if you have ample living space. Since my area isn’t spacious, I had to rely on vertical storage. I found a fairly reasonably priced storage unit (Castela) on Target’s website that’s perfect for small spaces and apartments, that’s also attractive to help store things like makeup, nail polish, socks, backup toiletries etc (small items). It also protects my things from getting too dusty. I used small box lids to act as dividers. It’s been working well so far in keeping everything neat, colors and labels visible. I’ve placed books on top so I cut-to-fit a brown drawer/shelf liner to protect the wood from scrapes. Just wanted to mention that the Castela is pretty small (sort of like the size of children’s furniture). If you need a big shelf with drawers, you may be disappointed. For eye pencils, mascaras, and the like, I used an old Pottery Barn spinning desk organizer to keep similar items together (I will include a pic when I get a chance). I suggest places like Target, Marshalls, Michaels/craft, The Container Store, Ikea, office supply, 99 cents/dollar/discount stores, and eBay to look for inexpensive storage solutions. Please comment if you can recommend any others I have not covered. Thanks to all the numerous You Tube makeup and organization gurus who have inspired me. I dedicate this blog post to you.

Rotary Watches

  • Posted on January 14, 2010 at 12:44 pm

I just discovered Rotary Watches a few days ago. Their diamond collection is really pretty and they are somewhat reasonably priced for the amount of detailing. I like their leather strap diamond collection the most because they are casual accessories with just the right amount of bling (a little surprise… a little extra something to put a smile on your face as you tell time).

Fairisle Sweater Clocks, Living the Anthropologie Life

  • Posted on January 11, 2010 at 3:23 pm

Saw these on sale a few days ago on Anthro’s website. They’re really cute. Who would have thought of creating a sweater clock? Obviously a very creative Andrea Williamson did. If you have extra cash to burn and your bare walls are beginning to get to you, keep these in mind.

I’ll take all of them please!

A Touch of Gothic

  • Posted on January 11, 2010 at 1:19 pm

King Baby Studio is a little gothic to me. Their aesthetic may not be for everyone but I do like it a lot… So I have my Anthro side and my gothic side (classical Gemini complex). I can’t say I have the pleasure of owning anything from KBS but maybe someday? I also think their lighters are so cool! I can see Pyro (X-Men) playing with one of their lighters and driving everyone nuts.

New Spin on Purse Hangers

  • Posted on December 2, 2009 at 12:25 pm

A great potential gift to a sister or galpal is Luxe Link’s purse hangers. From what I see on their site, there’s quite a selection- something for everyone. I first saw Luxe Link featured in Cambria Cove’s catalog. I’m nuts over the Rock Star Swarovski style!

Updated: January 12, 2010:
I received a beautiful artglass purse hook for Christmas by LSArts Incorporated. Check their website for stockists around your area!

My First iPhone

  • Posted on December 1, 2008 at 4:46 pm

I got my iPhone just this Saturday. It’s pretty amazing, fairly user friendly, and sophisticated. I don’t have that many complaints so far.

What I Love About It So Far

Easy to sync applications, music, photos, contacts, etc.
Cute icons
Scrolling feature makes everything easy (although false taps are easily made too)
Good amount of memory. I opted for 16.
The cool applications for 3G. Everything’s so accessible and literally at my fingertips.
Online web browsing has never been this good!

Drawbacks
Power hungry
No real wallpaper; I miss this feature a little.
If you have as many icons as I do, finding a program may take a little time
The tiny keyboard (false taps are easily made, not sure how the guys are dealing with this?)
If you make a spelling error; it’s not that easy to fix. I also have a Power Support Anti-Glare protective film which may hurt touch pad sensitivity.
I can’t wait until they add even more applications e.g. games (though it’s pretty good now), I just think there should always be more

My Fave Applications
(Too embarrassed to admit how many hours I spent reading the reviews)
Racing games e.g. Crash Kart
Flying games e.g. Wings
Snowboarding game e.g. Snowboard Crazy
Meditation visuals & music
iOwn
Astronomy e.g. Star Map & Distant Suns
Horoscopes e.g. Astrology & Chinese Zodiac
iZenGarden
Travel e.g. Travel Tracker
Grocery IQ
Car Care e.g. Gas Cubby
Fashion e.g. Pocket Closet & Carrie’s Closet

*I also love my Incase Slider Case. My current one is Kermit green.

Will keep you posted. Afterall, it’s only been three days since the phone was bought.
