More Makeup Storage Solutions for You
Recently I’ve been obsessing on this subject since I yet again had to do an update. I settled for the typical white Sterilites, being that it was one of the best solutions for my current situation. I transferred everything I had from my Target Castelas to those tiered plastic towers. The Castelas are now housing smaller items e.g. layering camisoles, scarves, stockings, nailpolish etc. I also thought of all of you who have been wrestling with how to organize all your things. You really can get many great ideas off of You Tube, so as an avid YT viewer, I’ve collected a multitude of good and creative ideas (wood, plastic, acrylic, metal) I’ve seen from various gurus, cosmetic princesses and queens alike.

Library Desk Viva Terra
While perusing through the new Viva Terra catalog, I saw the most clever desk design… If you’re like me, you have a mini library on your desk too. Mind you, I would never trade-in my stealth bomber of a desk but this library desk design is so pretty and just makes lots of sense…

Fairisle Sweater Clocks, Living the Anthropologie Life
Saw these on sale a few days ago on Anthro’s website. They’re really cute. Who would have thought of creating a sweater clock? Obviously a very creative Andrea Williamson did. If you have extra cash to burn and your bare walls are beginning to get to you, keep these in mind.
I’ll take all of them please!

Beach Cottage Decorative Pillows
I’ve been fantasizing about owning a pretty little beach cottage lately- you know the type… an artist’s retreat, exteriors with sun-reflecting whites and playful hues, and nautical themed interiors. Saw some reasonably priced pillows on Ideeli a couple of weeks ago and below are my favorites from Trilogy’s sale. I especially love the starfish pattern in robin’s egg blue.

Paper Bag Vases
I was going through a paper pile and found a catalog feature regarding paper bag vases. These handmade porcelain vases are by artist Michel Harvey. I tend to find smaller vases much more useful for my needs than bigger ones just because I like to buy a bouquet of a dozen blooms and split them among different rooms in my home. I’m trying to hold off on buying a bouquet of flowers until I reach my re-organization goals. It’s always good to appreciate little treats as an incentive/reward. If it was possible, I would love to have fresh flowers daily to weekly. My faves are roses and carnations. Usually I buy flowers from my local supermarkets when I’m food shopping. Sometimes I buy from florists, but no more than three times a year. Florists do carry more exotic varieties which I rarely see in the supermarkets; though at one point I was lucky enough to spot a big bouquet of relatively inexpensive (and gorgeous) Esperanza roses at a price club.

New Shower Curtains for the Bathroom
I fell in love with them instantly! So feminine and vintagey; made of eggshell white tulle and lace! The previous Shabby Chic one was due for another cleaning.

All In The Details…
Tracy Porter has really pretty serving bowls and tureens for sale. Great for larger families who still eat supper at the dining table and who have a big pantry. I love to see a beautifully decorated table with a vase of fresh flowers, nice flatware & linens, and delicious food being served in colorful floral earthenware. The same goes for a perfectly planned beach or park picnic. I’m hoping that a picnic will be possible for this weekend
. My mother-in-law gave DH and I one of many thoughtful and romantic gifts a few years ago for our Anniversary- the cutest picnic basket for two. I’m hoping we will finally get to use it and when we do, I will be sure to share pics

Himalayan Salt Lamp & Night Lights at Viva Terra
Last week, at the place I usually get my mani-pedis done, I looked over at a nearby shelf and saw a pretty Himalayan salt lamp casting a pinkish-orange glow. It was soothing to look at. Google searches have turned up quite a few of them, including ones with bluish to purplish glows. I’m not sure about its purifying abilities but I think it would look great in a room that needs a little splash of color.
I also found a few really pretty nightlights at Viva Terra. I’m impressed that nightlights are so attractive now, compared to the ones I remember having in my bedroom as a child.

Small Guilty Pleasure
I had a credit with Gilt recently and decided to buy this tres cute eggshell white double frame by Jay Strongwater. The credit made it a sweet deal so now I’m trying to decide the perfect pics for it. I will probably showcase more pics of my babies (Neo & Stella, that is).

Bird Feeder
DH and I saw two cardinals in the backyard on Saturday. I had birdseed for them and realized I needed a better bird feeder. I have a feeder especially for the hummingbirds, which I already set up last weekend. Haven’t seen any hummingbirds yet =( *bummer*. I ordered a really cute bird feeder today from Amazon. I can’t wait until it arrives! It is a pretty colonial design (can be hung or put on a post) and it cost $25, which I thought was fairly reasonable for its craftsmanship and size. The reviews I read gave it all thumbs up. I would be really pleased if it were also crow-proof but we’ll have to see. I hope this year I will see blue jays again like I did last summer. They are my favorite birds.
