Jacquie Aiche Rings for a Layered Look

  • Posted on May 27, 2010 at 4:31 pm

I love her Diamonds & Gold Collection for a layered look with mid-sized floral or pyramid rings.  Her twisted waif rings look especially great for this purpose (third pic).

Rotary Watches

I just discovered Rotary Watches a few days ago. Their diamond collection is really pretty and they are somewhat reasonably priced for the amount of detailing. I like their leather strap diamond collection the most because they are casual accessories with just the right amount of bling (a little surprise… a little extra something to put a smile on your face as you tell time).

These are pics from a Gilt Private Sale on February 10, 2009. Rock eye candy ;) ! Great sale but still really expensive… Hover over the pics with your mouse to view the sale prices and you’ll see what I mean.

Another great mixed media combo. Sort of strange but the black resin reminds me of vintage mourning or remembrance jewelry? Featured below is also a side-to-side comparison of the two.

The rose gold metal bracelets she’s created are just heavenly. I can’t picture myself wearing the traditional 38+ of them at one time but I can picture myself coordinating a couple of these bracelets with an India styled dress I bought from Anthro in 2000. I love designs which are culture-themed (especially those different from my own) e.g. products at Peruvian Connection. Enjoy the pics =)!

Isharya Accessories

Really terrific mixed media. These wood and metal accessories make a nice combo. They are more of “casual dress” items for me but I do suppose one can dress them up by pairing them with a solid black dress. There’s also a pretty collection of turquoise jewelry by Isharya. I’m very particular about turquoise jewelry especially since I’ve seen a lot of tacky ones that don’t bring out the unique beauty of this stone. I used to wear more bracelets than I do know. I lost a custom bracelet my parents gave me when I was in my teens. We searched everywhere for it to no avail =(. To this day, I still feel really bad about it.

Tsunami & Peruvian Connection

  • Posted on January 6, 2009 at 11:49 am

Several years ago my husband and I visited an alpaca farm in Cambridge, Vermont. They are darling animals and probably my favorite (although dogs, cats, horses, koala bears, seals, rabbits, and dolphins) are really not that much further behind. We were told that since alpacas are so trusting and vulnerable, they are provided with llamas to guard them. I was warned that a certain special alpaca, named Tsunami, would not be shy at all to approach me. He was strangely friendly and we were practically nose-to-nose. We took a picture together (apologies; I must find it so I can post it). Not my best pic but Tsunami looked great. He was so sweet- they all were. They’re very graceful, gentle, curious creatures. I love them =). Sometimes I fantasize about owning an alpaca farm upon retirement. Tsunami is from–> http://www.frenchhollowalpacas.com/AboutOurFarm.html. If you are near Cambridge, Vermont, do go and visit.

Regarding Peruvian Connection; it’s a wonderful company specializing in luxury alpaca wool products. Here are some of my recent faves pictured below.

Temple St. Clair

I fell in love with Temple St. Clair‘s modern classic style for its imaginative, impeccable goldwork design. It reminds me of a freshwater pearl ring I bought from a Court Street, Cobble Hill jeweler and the orb jewel from “Men in Black” ;) .
