{"id":6753,"date":"2013-10-03T17:50:19","date_gmt":"2013-10-03T21:50:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nycupcake.com\/?p=6753"},"modified":"2013-10-03T21:22:02","modified_gmt":"2013-10-04T01:22:02","slug":"macjournal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nycupcake.com\/?p=6753","title":{"rendered":"The Amazing MacJournal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Granted that this post is quite a deviation from my usual, I promise it to be well worth it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I had taken a journaling course fairly recently and though I love paper products and writing into a tangible journal (whether homemade or not), I figured that a digital journal for Apple users would suit my needs best.\u00a0 After a week of research, I concluded that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinersoftware.com\/products\/macjournal\/\" target=\"_blank\">MacJournal by Mariner Software <\/a>might be just the program for me.\u00a0 I was so impressed with the free 15 day trial that I just purchased the MJ download this morning so I thought I&#8217;d share this discovery with you.\u00a0 Here are some of the highlights I love about the software:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A variety of icons to mark your entries and journals with the option to use one of your own.<\/li>\n<li>Add a mood e.g. happy, so-so, etc. to your entries.<\/li>\n<li>Sort your journals by topic, date, mood, content size, and more.<\/li>\n<li>Use the Statistics Menu to view words, characters and lines in an entry.<\/li>\n<li>Timer to monitor yourself.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Timeline Mode to view your daily writing activity chronologically or the Calendar Mode to see your entries by month and year.<\/li>\n<li>A Full Screen Mode to give you a full writing landscape for all your thoughts, choosing your own color background, and your own color of type.<\/li>\n<li>Privacy and public settings<\/li>\n<li>Your MacJournal entries can be published to any of the popular blogging services such as Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal, Tumblr, and more.<\/li>\n<li>MacJournal is equipped with two-level security \u2013 password protection and AES-256 encryption.<\/li>\n<li>As for mobile journaling&#8230;\u00a0 it&#8217;s available for iPad &amp; iPhones =)<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s reasonably priced though you will have to pay for updated versions like most other programs<\/li>\n<li>Local info storage versus remote storage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Happy journaling ;)&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>*Photocredit &amp;
